Time To PLEDGE!

It's that time!

We have our "rockers" for our fundraiser

and we are ready to collect pledges!

(Read my post here about the Rock a' Thon)

I will list the "rockers" here on the blog.

I'll also link our Facebook Event here.

We need your

name,

type of pledge,

and

dollar amount.

We will be posting throughout the night

and then we will have the results

on Saturday!

I will add everyone's pledges up

and let you know what your total is.

Then, you go to our

Fundraising site,

to donate your pledge!

And the best part,

is every pledge will be 

DOUBLED

with our matching grant!

(if pledges are paid between feb. 17-feb. 23)

Here is an example of a pledge:

Hi, I'm Happy Pledger.

I want to pledge for Makayla.

I want to pledge $8/every hour that she rocks.

I'll also give an extra $100 if she rocks all night.

That's all the info we need!

I'll post throughout the week with our pledge totals.

Just from church this morning, here's

where we stand:

Fixed Pledges: $310

Pledges/Hour: $22

(if we get 10 hours of rocking, that's $220!)

As always, we are so blessed to witness

The Lord provide.

And as I've said before,

it is just precious to see Him provide

THROUGH His people.

We witness the love that people have for

us, and for our Tobias.

So thank you for thinking of us,

Patience.....

Patience...

This is one of the many things The Lord

is teaching us right now.

We want Tobias home.

I'm pretty sure that most anyone

reading this blog is very sure of this fact.

We don't want him to be in an orphanage

for one second longer than he has to.

And we honestly don't want to be waiting for him

any longer than we have to!

But we have some news that confirms we

WILL be waiting.

Longer.

Any parent out there that has gone through

an international adoption

(an independent one at that!)

will tell you that they are unpredicatable.

Especially in regards to timing.

We knew this going into the adoption process,

but once we got a set time frame in our minds,

it's hard to think of it being LONGER.

But that is what it will be.

Longer.

Didier is sick and being treated for malaria

as well as an ulcer.

His wife is also about to deliver a

baby any day now.

Needless to say, he has alot on his plate.

Before, I mentioned the Sockol family.

They were scheduled to leave a couple weeks ago

to help Didier with the ministry down there.

Well, they have been delayed.

We are not sure if/when they will be able to go to Congo.

This was a very last minute blow to them and

we are waiting to see what The Lord has planned for them

as far as ministry goes.

So without much assistance at all with these adoptions,

Didier works himself until he is

literally sick.

He needs rest.

He needs to be there for his family.

And we need to wait.

Our hearts have been set on May being the

latest that we bring Tobi home.

Now, all I really know is that it will be

after July.

Didier is planning a trip to the U.S.

in June,

and it doesn't look like he'll get to

the Embassy with Tobias by then.

That means that he will do what he can

as far as the process goes up until he leaves,

then when he gets back to Congo

he will finish Tobias's adoption.

So, a "few months" longer may not seem

like much to other people.

If you haven't adopted before,

but have your own biological children,

think of it as your due date.

If you were 3 months away from your due date,

and then were informed that

it would be an

ADDITIONAL few more months,

that would be a shock.

So I will not lie and say that it wasn't

a blow for us.

I cried.

I have tears as I'm typing this.

But The Lord knows all...

not only does He KNOW it,

but He orchestrates it.

So this is an opportunity for us to trust Him.

To wait on Him.

To have faith in His plan.

To pray for not only our son,

but for Didier and his family.

To rely on HIS timing.

To.

Be.

Patient.

 

      

Rock A' Thon!!!!

Fundraiser Time!!!

Rock a' Thon

Friday, Feb. 15

7:00p.m.-7:00a.m.

(12 hours!!!!)

Church At The Cross

Pine Grove, CA 

  

This is the fundraiser we've been prepping for!

It's called a "Rock A' Thon"

What happens?

We get a small group of people (5-8) to commit to "rocking" in a rocking chair for as long as they can without stopping from 7:00p.m.-7:00a.m.!

(we'll let them take bathroom breaks)

These "rockers" need to get pledges from people!

If they have connections,

they'll try and get some pledges from their

own family and friends.

But we want to open it up to all our blog followers!!

 
You can pledge a certain amount per hour that they are able to rock, or only give a certain amount if they go the entire 12 hours, or just give a fixed total for one of the "rockers."

ALL the funds raised will be paid via our fundraising site at adopttogether.org/teaglefam/ 

and will go DIRECTLY to our adoption fund!!!

The MAJOR advantage to all this, is that our matching grant starts on the 17th of February!
This means that if you pledge a set amount of $100 on a "rocker," when you go online to pay the $100, it will get matched by our donor with AN ADDITIONAL $100!!!!

So get ready to pledge!!!

of the "rockers" as soon as we get them set!

We don't want to have too many rockers,

so from our friends and family that are willing to rock,

we'll be choosing a maximum of 8.

while we're "rocking",

and we'll have movies playing for all the rockers!
